\nAnimal densities are reported as number per square meter. Transect imagery was collected with the ROV SCINI.\u00a0 Organisms were identified to the lowest possible taxon.
This dataset includes abundances of taxa that were observed in images taken in benthic quadrats under the McMurdo Ice Shelf, Antarctica during December 2008. The imagery was collected with a Remotely Operated Vehicle called the 'Submersible Capable of under Ice Navigation and Imaging' (ROV/SCINI). Quadrats ranged in area from 0.08 to0.75 meters^2.
BCO-DMO Processing:
\n- transposed columns to rows
\n- added conventional header with dataset name, PI name, version date
\n- modified parameter names to conform with BCO-DMO naming conventions
\n- converted latitude and longitude to decimal degrees
\n-\u00a0phylum and taxonomic name were combined to form one term
