The pH electrode was prepared before each set of measurements following instructions in the ROSS® Electrode User Guide (Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.) and calibrated with a three-buffer calibration using Thermo ScientificTM OrionTM pH Buffer Individual Use Pouches.
