Abstract:

This dataset contains fluorometric measurements of chlorophyll a from cruise RR2201 on R/V Roger Revelle (BLOOFINZ-IO, January-March 2022) in the Argo Basin region off NW Australia.

Methods & Sampling

Seawater was collected with Niskin bottles on a CTD rosette, filtered onto GF/F filters and extracted for 24 hours at -20 degrees Celsius (°C) with 90% acetone. Samples were analyzed for chlorophyll a and phaeopigment concentrations by the acidification method with a Turner 10AU fluorometer.

Data Processing Description

The data were calculated by standard equations from unacidified (Fo) and acidified (Fa) readings, water sample and solvent volumes, and factors derived from the fluorometer calibration against pure Chla standards.

- Imported original file "RR2201_FluorometricChla_BCO-DMO Submission.xlsx" into the BCO-DMO system.
- Marked 'nd' as a missing data value (missing data are empty/blank in the final csv file).
- Renamed fields to comply with BCO-DMO naming conventions.
- Converted the "DateTimeUTC" column to ISO 8601 format and renamed "ISO_DateTime_UTC".
- Saved final file as "943455_v1_rr2201_fluorometric_chla.csv".
